Global tensions between Iran and the United States have once again escalated over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil routes.

Iran recently announced that the Strait of Hormuz is “completely open” for commercial ships. However, Iran also warned that ships must follow routes approved by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Meanwhile, the United States has continued naval monitoring and blockade pressure, raising fears of further escalation. Military ships and surveillance operations are ongoing in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz handles about 20% of the world’s oil supply, meaning any disruption could directly impact global oil prices and fuel costs worldwide.

Following Iran’s reopening announcement, global markets reacted immediately. Oil prices fell by nearly 10%, while global stock markets surged, showing how sensitive markets are to Middle East tensions.

Experts warn that the situation remains fragile and could escalate into a larger conflict if tensions rise further.
